Nowadays, computational intelligence is being used more frequently by the engineers to solve a whole range of real engineering problems. The computational intelligence-based methods, such as machine learning and nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms, can often provide valuable alternatives to the traditional methods for efficiently solving problems in civil engineering fields. In particular, the development of machine learning and metaheuristic methods are the main concerns of Computational Intelligence in Civil Engineering (CICE) research group.
Doddy Prayogo is currently a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Petra Christian University. He received his ST from Petra Christian University (PCU), his MT from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) and his MSc and PhD in Construction Management from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST). He is the author of several journal articles and conference papers. He is the co-founder of a new metaheuristic optimization algorithm, Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS). His main research interests are machine learning and metaheuristic applications for solving civil engineering issues.
